The Museum Walserhaus
In 1938, the founders of the Walserhaus association inaugurated the first folklore museum in the canton of Ticino. One of the oldest houses in the Alpine region dating back to 1386 was made available for this purpose, thus preserving its original structure. Since its opening, the exhibition has grown steadily and has been repeatedly renewed. Over the years, the museum has also been expanded to include a ProSpecieRara-garden where old vegetable and herb varieties are grown, and two barns, where an exhibition on the work of mountain farming can be admired and temporary exhibitions or craft activities take place.
