Activities

  • For the preservation and enhancement of the ethnographic cultural heritage, objects are restored where necessary and the inventory is regularly updated.
  • The documentation on Walser culture is also constantly updated in cooperation with other public bodies in the village and the other Walser communities in the Alpine region.
  • The permanent exhibition is regularly updated and expanded, especially concerning the contents accessible in the info boxes.
  • Every year, temporary exhibition is set up dedicated to a theme concerning the village and Walser culture or to the artistic work of the villagers.
  • In the field of animation, our offer is varied and can be adapted to the needs of visitors and groups: Guided tours, themed walks, film projections, afternoons with handicraft activities, nature trails, storytelling evening, TiM-Tandem in the museum, festivals, concerts and much more.
  • We publish works on various topics related to the culture, history, language etc. of Bosco Gurin, sometimes in collaboration with other Walser societies and with public bodies.
  • On request, we provide any kind of advice concerning all topics related to the Walser culture, the museum and its activities.

The main recurring events are:

  • Participation in the International Museum Day (mid-May)
  • temporary exhibitions in the museum
  • Autumn festival Måtzufåmm (on the third or fourth Saturday on September)
  • storytelling evening (30 December)
  • general assemblies (spring and autumn) followed by a lecture
